WHY YOU SHOULD VOTE “IN FAVOR”

• For around $7.66 per month on a $400,000 home, you’re supporting 930 students for a year—a small investment for our biggest asset: our kids!

The levy is crucial to REBUILDING our school district. The chaos that the old board left has had a negative impact on our district. The naysayers who want to see our public school system dismantled are putting out a lot of misinformation. This isn’t new; they lied before. They claimed that more than $1 million in school funds had been lost or misappropriated, yet a forensic audit by an impartial third party showed there were no “financial improprieties.”

That useless audit cost our school district more than $50,000 – money we didn’t have to waste. Now these same people are urging others to vote against the levy. 

But here’s the truth about the levy:

The homeowner of a house valued at $425,000 with the homeowners exemption of $125,000 subtracted will have an assessed value of $300,000. This homeowner will pay pay just $69 per year or $5.75 per month.

The Levy will:

• fund 2 new busses to keep our kids safe.
• fund extra and co-curricular activities including transportation
• fund a resource officer to help keep our kids safe
• provide funds to hire a part time payroll assistant to help to overburdened office staff.  
• provide funds to hire a part time janitors to help the current staff.
• help feed our children so they can focus on learning and not their hunger
• fund technology and curriculum materials

We are asking you once again for your help so we can finish the job of restoring our schools. Our community needs to come together to feed and educate our children. Please get to the polls on November 5 (or vote early, or vote absentee – see info below and – bring a friend! – to vote “IN FAVOR” of the levy on November 5.

To be eligible to vote in Idaho, you must:

• Be a citizen of the United States

• Have resided in Idaho and in the county for 30 days prior to Election day (May 21)

• Be 18 or older by Election Day

STEP 1: CHECK your voter registration information at VoteIdaho.gov 

• If the information is accurate, request an absentee ballot before Oct 25.
• If incorrect or NOT registered go to Step 2

STEP 2: REGISTER or update your address

• Bring Approved ID and Proof of Residence with you when you go to vote during early voting or on Nov 5.

STEP 3: VOTE

• Vote by absentee ballot
  • - Request at VoteIdaho.gov by Oct 25- return by Nov 5
• Vote early Oct 21 through Nov 1 at the Elections Office at Hwy 2 and Division in Sandpoint, M-F, 9-5
• Vote in person on Nov 5, 8:00 am to 8:00 pm
  • Find your polling location - Voteidaho.gov

Approved Photo Identification

• Current Idaho Driver’s License or Identification card
• Current U.S. Passport or Federal photo Identification card
• Current Tribal Identification card
• Current Concealed Weapons License issued by a County Sheriff in Idaho

Approved Proof of Residence:

• Any of the above photo IDs with correct residence address
• Current proof of car insurance
• Lease, or rental agreement
• A utility bill, excluding a cellular telephone bill
• A bank or credit card statement
• A paystub, paycheck, or government-issued check
• Enrollment papers issued for the current school year by a high school, or an accredited institution of higher education located within the state of Idaho

After Oct 11, register when you vote early or on Nov 5. Persons with felony violations that have been satisfied can vote.
