Replace - SUCCESS

Congratulations to Paul and Ann on their appointment to the board!

Monday, October 30th - your hard work again helped our school district move forward. Paul Turco and Ann Yount were both selected from a pool of applicants from there respective zones to serve on the WBCSD Board of Trustees.  Congratulations! Again, thank you all for your support!

Zone 2 - Paul Turco

Paul Turco is a local, self-employed business man who owns a company in the financial and banking sector and is an avid sports fan who has donated his time to the community by being a volunteer coach for youth baseball and wrestling.

  • Has a 3rd grader and a 5th grader in the WBCSD.
  • Was a 3 sport athlete in high school and understands the good that extracurricular activities and sports provides.
  • Married to Jessica (Curry) Turco, who is a Spartan alumnus and who also coaches youth volleyball and basketball.
  • Truly wants what is best for all the children in the WBCSD.

Zone 4 - Ann Yount

Ann Yount is a local area business woman who grew Yount Daycare to the facility it is today, allowing her to get to know many of the area's families.

  • She is a 41 year resident of Priest River.
  • She raised 6 children in the community and currently has seven grandchildren in WBCSD schools.
  • She was active in PTO, school board, booster club, and coaching for WBCSD schools while her children attended.
  • Ann strongly believes that public schools are an integral part of the community and wants to make sure that remains an option for all children.

Trustee Replacement Procedure

The board may decide to appoint a committee to review applications for replacements. People from the community would then be able to apply for the position. The committee may make recommendations to the board. The board would then vote on the replacement trustees for the two seats that would be vacant if the recall goes through.

The board could take applications and bring a vote without using a selection committee. The exact procedure will be the board's decision.

Above are two community members who have publicly announced that they would be willing to fill the positions as WBCSD trustees if selected by the remaining board members. WBCSD RRR have vetted and endorsed these two members, but of course realize that the decision is entirely up to the remaining school board members.
